Connect PromptLayer to your AgentCalls phone agent. Look up prompts and logs during calls.

PromptLayer keeps your prompt templates, workflows and request logs in one place. Connect your PromptLayer account to AgentCalls and your voice agent can look up what it needs while it is on the phone. It can check the current version of a prompt template, pull up a recent request log, or confirm the status of a workflow, then answer the caller with what it found. Your agent reads from PromptLayer only. It does not run prompts or change your templates during a call.

What your agent can do with PromptLayer

  • Look up a prompt template by name and read its current release version during a call.
  • Retrieve a recent request log to confirm what was recorded for a customer interaction.
  • Check a workflow definition or a registered tool at a selected release label.
  • Browse folders and find a specific entity in your PromptLayer workspace while on the phone.

PromptLayer exposes 16 actions. You choose which ones the agent may use and whether each runs during or after the call.

Example calls

Client asks which prompt version is live

  1. Caller

Hi, I'm Daniel from Harbor Dental's tech side. Which version of the appointment reminder prompt is live right now?

  2. Agent

Let me check that for you. The appointment reminder template is on release label production, version 14, last updated on the 3rd of March.

  3. Caller

Great, can you confirm it still includes the late-arrival wording?

  4. Agent

Yes, version 14 includes the late-arrival line. Do you want me to note the check in your account?

Support lookup for a customer's request log

  1. Caller

A customer says our assistant gave a wrong price yesterday around 4 pm. Can you find that conversation?

  2. Agent

I can pull the request logs. Can you give me the approximate time and the customer's account email?

  3. Caller

It was about 4:10 pm Tuesday, account email is ruth.owens@example.com.

  4. Agent

Found it. The logged response quoted a rate of 89 dollars, and the recorded input shows the older pricing template was used. I'll send that summary to your team.

Outbound check on a workflow before a launch

  1. Agent

Hello, this is the AgentCalls assistant for Brightway Labs. I'm calling about the onboarding workflow you planned to launch Friday.

  2. Caller

    Yes, is it ready?

  3. Agent

The onboarding workflow is saved and tagged for staging. It has not been promoted to production yet. Would you like me to reschedule the launch reminder for Thursday morning?

  4. Caller

    Thursday at 9 works.

Questions, answered.

Does it work during the call or after it?

Both. Your agent can look up PromptLayer data while a call is in progress, and it can also use the same connection for follow-up calls. It only reads from PromptLayer during calls and does not run prompts or edit templates.

What do I need to connect PromptLayer?

You need a PromptLayer account and its API credentials from the PromptLayer settings page. Sign in to the AgentCalls dashboard, open Tools, choose PromptLayer and enter your credentials.
